Primary Role
The primary and customary role of the civil engineer is to conduct technical investigations into the origin and cause of events.
Principales fonctions
- Réaliser des examens ainsi que des simulations en laboratoire afin de vérifier les hypothèses explicatives;
- Effectuer les relevés et observations menant à la cause de l’évènement, qu’il s’agisse d’un bâtiment résidentiel, commercial, industriel ou agricole;
- Procéder à l’étude de documents techniques et normatifs;
- Vulgariser la démarche ayant mené à ses conclusions, qu’il communique sous forme verbale et écrite;
- Effectuer des déplacements sur l’ensemble du territoire québécois (et plus rarement à l’extérieur du Québec) afin de déterminer l’origine et la cause des évènements;
- Agir comme témoin expert devant les tribunaux lorsque requis.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering;
- Member of a professional order in Quebec;
- 1 year of relevant experience (building structures, environmental, building construction, and loss assessment);
- Strong French communication skills (both oral and written);
- Aptitude for and interest in technical and hands-on work;
- Ability to participate in promotional activities and maintain the company’s professional network;
- Availability for training in Canada and the United States, as well as for sharing technical knowledge with other experts;
- Good command of spoken and written English (an asset).

Working Conditions
- Permanent position: 35 hours per week – remote work option available;
